CAIRO – 28 February 2020: Ramadan Sobhy will not be fit for Al-Ahly clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at CAF Champions League quarter-finals first leg, scheduled on Saturday at Cairo stadium, according to the team manager, Rene Weiler.

“Sobhy is not available for the game. He is suffering from a muscular injury and I do not know his return date.” Weiler told press on Thursday.

Al-Ahly, who finished the group stage as runners-up, will face South African giants, Mamelodi Sundowns, in a repeat of their clash at the same round last season, which witnessed a humiliating elimination for the Red Devils.

The Red Devils suffered a 5-0 loss at the first leg in South Africa and they could not bounce back at the second leg in Egypt which ended with a 1-0 win for Al-Ahly.

Weiler commented on last season’s 5-0 loss, saying “I do not want to talk about the past. We are full prepared for the game and we are expecting a tough tie against one of the best teams in the continent.”
