CAIRO-22 February 2020: Aston Villa manager, Dean Smith, preferred to keep the Egyptian winger, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, on the bench against Southampton.

For the fourth consecutive game, Trezeguet starts on the bench and he is expected to take part in the game during the second half.

Aston Villa suffered a shocking 3-2 loss against Tottenham Hotspur last week at home after the Spurs' star, Son Heung-min, scored a late goal to secure the three points for his team.

"We are in a position we do not want to be in. We would obviously be happier with eight or nine more points. But we are where we are and you just have to deal with it." Aston Villa manager said ahead of the game against Southampton.

Aston Villa are one point away from the relegation zone and they need to get positive results at the remaining 12 games of the league to secure their position at the top tier of the English football.
