CAIRO-21 February: Zamalek fans are having great time this season as they celebrated on Thursday night the second title of their club in one week.

Zamalek defeated Al Ahly on penalties to secure the Egyptian Super Cup title only six days after defeating Esperance in Doha to win the African Super Cup title.

Al Ahly and Zamalek fans in Abu Dhabi packed Mohamed bin Zayed stadium hours ahead of the game to cheer for their players during the game.

The two teams did not produce their best football during the game and the two goalkeepers stopped the rare attempts of the strikers to take the game to penalty shootouts as the regular time ended with a goalless draw.

Ashraf Bencherki missed the third penalty for Zamalek but Al Ahly players, Mohamed Hany and Aliou Bedji, missed the fourth and fifth penalty kick for Al Ahly to grant Zamalek the title.

Zamalek achieved their fourth Egyptian Super Cup title and their second one after defeating their arch-rivals, Al Ahly.

The two teams will meet again on Monday at Cairo stadium at the domestic league before shifting their focus to the African competition as Zamalek will meet Esperance of Tunisia while Al Ahly will meet South African giants, Mamelodi Sundowns.
