CAIRO – 19 December 2019: Al-Ahly Tunisian defender, Ali Maaloul, returned to the team starting line-up for Thursday’s Egyptian League against Ismaily.

The Tunisian missed Al-Ahly’s recent games at the league and CAF Champions League after he suffered a muscular injury during Al-Ahly’s 1-0 loss to Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia on 29 November.

Maaloul is not the only surprising start as Al-Ahly manager, Rene Weiler, will count on Marwan Mohsen and Ahmed El Sheikh to lead the team attacking line alongside the two regular starters, Hussein El-Shahat and Junior Ajayi.

Weiler’s chosen starting line-up for the game consists of: Mohamed El Shenawy, Ayman Ashraf, Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Hany, Aliou Dieng, Ramy Rabia, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, El Shahat, Ajayi, Mohsen and El Sheikh.

Weiler led the Red Devils to their best ever start at the Egyptian League since its inception in 1948 as the club achieved six victories out of six to lead the league table with 18 points.
