CAIRO – 5 December 2019: Barcelona Argentinean star, Lionel Messi, revealed on Thursday that he voted for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane at FIFA's Best award.

"It's a shame to see Mane finish in fourth place, but I think there have been a lot of great players this year. That's why it was difficult to choose a particular player. But I chose Sadio Mane because he's a player that I like.” Messi said.

The Senegalese played a massive role in Barca’s biggest setback last season when Liverpool turned a 3-0 loss at the first leg to a 4-0 victory at the second leg to knock Barcelona out of UEFA Champions League.

Mane is one of the key players at Liverpool, who are leading the Premier League table with 43 points and they only dropped two points after 15 games.

On Monday. Lionel Messi won the most prestigious individual prize, Ballon d'Or, for a record sixth time after beating Virgil Van Dijk who came second while Cristiano Ronaldo came third at the list.
