CAIRO_15 November 2019: Pyramids French manager, Sébastien Desabre, believes that his team is ready to fight for the Egyptian League title this season.

“We do not have the history of Al-Ahly and Zamalek but we have the ambition to achieve a better position this season and challenge for the title.” Desabre said.

In 2018, Chairman of the Saudi Sports Authority Turki Al Sheikh and he turned the club into one of the Egyptian football giants after huge investments.

The club lost the Cup final to Zamalek and finished the league at the third position behind the biggest two clubs in the country Al-Ahly and Zamalek. One year later, Emirati businessman Salem Al Shamsi acquired the ownership of the club.

Desabre added “We have a new board with a new strategy. Al-Ahly and Zamalek are very strong but we will do our best to produce good football to challenge them for the title.”

The French manager led the team to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage in the club’s first appearance on the continental level.
