CAIRO – 13 October 2019: Al-Ahly left winger, Ali Maaloul, revealed that he is happy to play at Al-Ahly and he wants to continue his career at the club.

“Al-Ahly is better than many clubs in Europe. I have received many offers but I have great relationship with the club and the fans.” Maaloul said.

Maaloul captained his national team during their goalless draw against Cameroon on Saturday night.

The left winger returned to the national team after former manager, Alain Giresse, ruled him out of the squad that participated in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and finished fourth at the tournament.

Maaloul commented on his return to the team, saying “I respected everyone when I was ruled out of the competition and supported my teammates. Now, I am so happy that I returned to the team.”

Maaloul is one of the best players in Al-Ahly since he joined the club from CS Sfaxien in 2016 and he played a great role in the team’s success at the domestic competitions.

Maaloul was Al-Ahly fans’ hero last season and was named the club’s player of the year after he scored many decisive goals at the league which helped the team secure the title after a fierce race with Zamalek.
