Tough clashes for Egyptian clubs at Mohammed VI Champions Cup

CAIRO – 5 October 2019: The round of 16 draw of 2019–20 Arab Club Champions Cup, known officially as the Mohammed VI Champions Cup, resulted in tough clashes for the Egyptian teams, Ismaily and Al Ittihad Alexandria.

Ismaily will face Emirati giants, Al Jazira, while Al Ittihad will face Bahraini giants, Al Muharraq.

The Alexandrian team reached the second round after defeating Al Araby of Kuwait while Ismaily defeated Libya’s Al-Ahly Benghazi.

Last season, Al Ittihad were the last Egyptian team to say goodbye to the competition after losing at the quarter finals to the tournament’s finalists, Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

Round of 16 draw fixtures:

Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya vs MC Alger

Al Ittihad Alexandria vs Al Muharraq

Ismaily vs Al Jazira

Al Wasl vs Ittihad Jeddah

Raja Casablanca vs Wydad Casablanca

Olympic Safi vs Esperance

FC Nouadhibou vs Al Shorta

Al Shabab- Saudi Arabia vs Shabab Jirdan

The first leg will be played on 18 October and the second leg is scheduled a week later.
