CAIRO – 3 October 2019: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, states that his team focuses on defending their UEFA Champions League title.

Salah’s statements came after he scored two goals to lead his team, Liverpool, to defeat FC Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 and achieve their first victory at this season’s UEFA Champions League.

“We play to win the Champions League again and we focus on each game,” Salah said after the game to BT Sport.

The Reds led the game with three goals after 35 minutes and their fans started to celebrate the comfortable victory but they were stunned at the next minutes as the Austrian team managed to score three goals to make the score 3-3 after 60 minutes.

Salah added “I think when we were winning 3-0 we needed to score a fourth and fifth and number six also, but it’s a little bit tough because the human mind thinks a little bit ‘OK, we’re going to win and score again and again.”

Salah was his team fans’ hero as he scored the winning goal 15 minutes away from the final whistle after Red Bull Salzburg defenders failed to clear the ball from their area.

The Egyptian continued “I’m happy to score the fourth goal and we got the three points, that’s the most important thing.”

Liverpool comes second at the group with three points while Italian giants, Napoli, lead the group with four points after a draw against Genk.
