CAIRO – 26 September 2019: Egypt internationals, Ahmed Elmohamady and Mahmoud Hassan known as Trezeguet, participated in their team’s 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at the round of 32 of EFL Cup known as Carabao Cup.

Jose Ignacio opened the score for Aston Villa after 22 minutes and his teammate, Conor Hourihane, doubled the score for the Villans 13 minutes later.

Brighton returned in the game at the second half by Hoydon Robers’ goal but a goal from Aston Villa captain, Jack Grealish, secured his team’s victory.

“As a Villa supporter, I’ve seen teams that have come unstuck in situations like that, whether it’s a youthful team or a lower-league team,” Aston Villa manager, Dean Smith, said after the game.

EFL Cup round of 16 draw put Aston Villa against Premier League side, Wolverhampton Wanderers, who defeated Reading on penalties at the round of 32.

Smith praised the team’s fans saying “You’ve seen the numbers that have travelled down from Birmingham and they deserve our utmost respect and we’ve given it that tonight.”

Aston Villa achieved five EFL Cup titles and their last one came in 1996 when they defeated Leeds United at the final.
