CAIRO, 25 September 2019:The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Tuesday sent an inquiry to the International Football Association (FIFA) on why the Egyptian vote was not adopted in the votes of the "Best in the World" competition, in which the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah and Liverpool club came fourth.

Lionel Messi and JurgenKlopp took home the leading honours for The Best FIFA Men’s Player and Men’s Coach respectively, after their outstanding 2018/19 campaigns which saw both scoop silverware and individual accolades galore.

The Egyptian Football Association officially sent Egypt's vote to FIFA on August 15, four days before the end of the deadline, where the voting ended on August 19.

Mohamed Salah removed from his description of his official Twitter account, that he is a player at the Egyptian national team.

Many fans claimed that this move was a reaction as EFA didn’t vote for him in the BEST awards.

Egypt's captain, Ahmed Al Mohamady, voted for Egypt, while Egypt’s Olympic team coach ShawkiGharib voted instead of the Egyptian national first team.

Messi won the award for the sixth time in his remarkable career, beating Ronaldo, who has won five times before.
