CAIRO, 6 August 2019:Zamalek SC board of directors has received a notification from the African Football Confederation (CAF) for the first leg match between the White team and Dekadaha from Somalia in the 64th round of the African Champions League on Sunday (August 11th) at 10 pm at Petrosport Stadium.

Zamalek took the approval of the club Dekadaha from Somalia to play the first leg of the African Champions League in Cairo instead of Djibouti.

The second leg is scheduled for 23, 24 or 25 of August in Egypt after Zamalek reached an agreement with Dekadaha to play both games in Cairo.

Zamalek, 2019 CAF Confederation Cup winners, aim to have a good start at the competition and continue their journey towards winning the title they last achieved in 2002.

Zamalek and Al-Ahly will use Cairo International stadium for their domestic and continental matches this season.

Timings for the matches will be decided after the summer as the Stadium is going through refurbishment

The Stadium hosted ten games during 2019 Africa Cup of Nations including the tournament’s final between Algeria and Senegal.

Zamalek appointed their former player, Tarek Yehia, as a caretaker manager and they are searching for a new manager to lead the team at the new season after the board sacked Khaled Galal following the Egyptian league title loss to Al-Ahly.

Galal, who succeeded Swiss manager, Cristian Gross, led the team during the last stage of the season in which the team lost the title to their arch rivals, Al-Ahly.
