CAIRO - 19 July 2019: The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced the selection of Hurghada in Egypt to host the 2019 Best Awards in Africa, which will be held in January.

The ceremony will be held at the Citadel Sahl Hasheesh Hotel, a group of Egyptian businessman Kamel Abu Ali. The concert will feature a constellation of present & former African stars.
Mohamed Salah was named African Footballer of the Year in the last two editions and won the award last year over Senegal’s captain, Sadio Mane.

CAF has selected Hurghada after a recommendation from Hani Abu Reda, head of the Organizing Committee of the African Cup of Nations and member of the executive committee of CAF and FIFA.

A high-level delegation visited the coastal city on the sidelines of the African Championship and expressed admiration for the facilities according to a press release.

The event marks the 2019 African Player of the Year, best coach, best team and Women best player.

The draw for the 2021 African Cup of Nations resulted in an easy group for Egypt in the qualifiers for the African Nations in Cameroon.

Egypt placed in Group G alongside Kenya, Togo and Comoros.

The 2019 AFCON impressed all the African & world football fans after an amazing organization from Egypt. Everyone praised the hospitality, the precision of all details and security of the 24 teams.

Egypt proved that it can host any tournament especially as preparations for this tournament happened in a very short period.
