CAIRO – 2 July 2019: Tunisia national team faces Mauritania at Suez Stadium on Tuesday at the last round of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations group stage.

Tunisia had a frustrating start at the tournament with two draws against Angola and Mali respectively and they need to defeat Mauritania to secure qualification to the second round.

“It is very difficult at the moment to evaluate the chances of our team, but the most important thing is to win.” Tunisia manager, Alan Giresse, said on Tuesday.

Tunisia, who achieved the title once in 2004 at home, hopes to regain their form and avoid another setback that could force them to leave the competition early.

Giresse added “The players are aware of the stakes and the pressure of this match.”

On the other hand, Mauritania are having their best moment at the competition as they earned their first ever point at the history of the competition following a 0-0 draw with Angola.

“We are going to hang on and make sure to achieve qualification. Even if we have 0.5 chance to qualify, we have the potential and the players to get there.” Mauritania coach, Corentin Martins, said.

The game starts on 9:00 pm.
