CAIRO - 26 June 2019: The medical committee linked to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations' organizing committee affirmed its readiness to provide emergency medical services at all levels to the fans and African guests of the AFCON.

Mohamed Soltan, head of the medical committee, affirmed coordination with the Ministry of Health to provide full medical insurance to all African delegations since they arrive at the Cairo International Airport, and until they leave Egypt.

The emergency plan isexecuted on four levels, said Soltan, including dealing with the football players in the pitch, the officials of the Confederation of African Football, the official high-level delegations, fans in the stadium, andAfrican residents in hotels.

Soltan announced thehotline 998 to provide health advice, according to each case, adding that the service is provided in Arabic, English and French.

Emergency medical plan for AFCON revealed

CAIRO - 19 June 2019: The Ambulance Authority has put a plan to provide medical coverage of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Egypt on June 21 - July 19.



Nigeria forward Samuel Kalu has recovered in hospital after he collapsed on the eve of his side's first Africa Cup of Nations' match due to severe dehydration, during his training in Alexandria.
