Tunisia to start African dream against Angola

CAIRO, 24 June 2019:The Tunisian team will meet their Angolan counterpart in the first round of the 32nd African Cup of Nations, which is currently held in Egypt and will last until July 19.

Tunisia's match against Angola will take place at 7:00 pm on Monday at the Suez Stadium in the first round of the fifth group, which also includes the teams of Mali and Mauritania, and will be broadcast on Time Sport.

Tunisia has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations finals on every occasion since 1994; they won the tournament in 2004 and have only failed to reach the knockout phase in two of the last eight editions of the AFCON.

Angola are back at the finals for the first time since 2013; they have not made it out of the group stage at the tournament since reaching back-to-back quarter-finals in 2008 and 2010.

It is a historic moment for the people in Suez as their 27,000 seated stadium will host an International tournament for the first time ever.

The stadium was opened in 1990 and it is the home ground of the city's local teams like: Asmant El-Suweis, Petrojet and Montakhab el-Suez.
