Halep faces Ostapenko in French open women’s final

CAIRO – 9 June 2017: The young Latvian player Jelena Ostapenko insists to continue her adventure till the end after she booked a seat in French Open final against the Romanian Simona Halep next Saturday.

Ostapenko won the semi final match against her Swiss fellow Bacinszky 7-6,3-6,6-3 to compete in the final for the first time in her Career.

Ostapenko,who have just turned 20, became the First tennis Latvian tennis player to play in one of Tennis Grand Slam finals.

Her competitor Simona Halep reached the final after winning the Czech player Karolina Pliskova in the semi final 6-4,3-6,6-3.

Halep will try to win the title this time after she lost her first final in the competition in 2014 against Maria Sharapova.

Both players will try to win the title held by the Spanish player Gabrine Muguruza.

The French Open is a major tennis tournament held in France and it is the second in the four Grand Slam competitions.
