CAIRO, 20 January 2019: Egypt's national handball team starts their second round of the Handball World Cup, which takes place in Germany and Denmark, against Norway at 9:30 pm on Sunday.

Egypt qualified for the second stage after being third in their group after Sweden and Hungary. Egypt will face also in this group Denmark and Tunisia.

The second stage divided into two groups; the first two positions in each group qualify for the semi-final. The third and fourth places of each group play a match to decide the World Cup's Fifth and Sixth places respectively.

Egypt and Norway have faced three times in the World Cup; although the Norwegian team wasn’t among the top teams in Europe, but all the confrontations ended by a victory for Norway.

The first match was in 2005 in Tunisia; Egypt lost the game 24-19. In 2007, Egypt lost 27-18. In the last match in 2009, Norway defeated Egypt 30-20.
