CAIRO – 26 June 2018: The Egyptian national football team arrived on Tuesday to Cairo International Airport from Russia, after being eliminated from the 2018 World Cup's first stage.

Cairo International Airport missed the presence of the Egyptian fans, who were always there to receive the Egyptian sports teams and to support their much appreciated efforts, which didn’t happen this time.

Egypt started their participation in the World Cup against Uruguay when they lost 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Uruguayan defender, José Giménez.

Egypt also lost the second game 3-1 to the host, Russia, with Mohamed Salah scoring Egypt’s only goal at the game.

Finally, Egypt lost 2-1 in the Arab derby against Saudi Arabia despite leading the score by Salah’s early goal.
