CAIRO – 22 January 2018: Karim Djaziri, agent of Real Madrid’s French striker Karim Benzema, believes that his client deserves better treatment from Real Madrid fans who booed the player during their 7-1 victory over Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.

“It’s a lack of respect for a player who is the club's seventh highest scorer of all-time. He has participated in some of the brightest eras the biggest club in the world has enjoyed,” Djaziri told Marca on Monday.

Benzema replaced Borja Mayoral in the Real Madrid attacking line 25 minutes before the final whistle when Real Madrid was leading the game 3-1. This was Benzema’s first appearance for Madrid since an injury that had him out of action for a month.

Djaziri, who has been the player’s agent since he was 15, added, “It's unfair that he was whistled when Real Madrid were winning and he was returning from a month-long injury. Karim has always shown exemplary commitment to the club and has put the team before him, so he doesn't deserve this treatment."

Real Madrid, after the victory, were up to 35 points, putting them in fourth place, 19 points behind the leaders, Barcelona.
