Real Madrid loses Ramos for injury

CAIRO – 5 January 2017 : Real Madrid announced on Friday that the team captain, Sergio Ramos, has suffered an injury during the training session on Friday.

“Following tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Sanitas, Real Madrid’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the soleus of his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed,” Real Madrid official website said on Friday.

Ramos trained with the players who did not participate in Real Madrid’s 3-0 away victory over Numancia on Thursday at the Spanish Cup round of 16.

Ramos is expected to miss Real Madrid’s trip to Vigo to play against Celta Vigo on Sunday at the Spanish League and he is expected to miss Real Madrid’s games for the next three weeks.

Real Madrid is suffering in the league this season. They are in the fourth place with 31 points, 14 points behind the league leaders, Barcelona.
