CAIRO – 10 December 2017: UAE’S Al Jazira defeated Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds on Saturday to reach the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals. Al Jazira will meet UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Al Jazira players played in front of their fans and they were the better team in the whole game. They created many chances to score by Ali Mabkhout, Mbark Boussoufa and Romario da Silva (Romarinho), but Urawa goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa saved all their chances to end the first half 0-0.

In the second half, Mabkhout opened the score for the Emirati team after seven minutes. He received a great pass from Romarinho and put the ball between Nishikawa’s legs.

Urawa had many chances to equalize the score, but Al Jazira goalkeeper Ali Khaseif saved all their chances to secure his team’s victory.

Al Jazira will play against Real Madrid on December 13 at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Al Jazira hopes to be the first Emirati side to reach FIFA Club World Cup final.
