CAIRO – 9 December 2017: Sevilla’s assistant coach, Ernesto Marcucci, believes that Real Madrid’s absences in the defense will not affect them when they host his team on Saturday in the Spanish League.

“Focusing on their defensive issues would be a mistake. Missing Ramos or Varane will surely impact them, but those who play will be determined to show why they deserve more minutes,” Marcucci told the press on Friday.

Real Madrid enters the game without three of their key players – Sergio Ramos, Carlos Casemiro and Dani Carvajal – due to suspension, besides Rafael Varane, who suffers from a muscular injury.

Marcucci hopes that his team’s run in the whole season will not be affected by the result against Madrid. He said, “I hope that after the Real Madrid match, our good form will continue. We are where we wanted to be.”

Sevilla qualified to the UEFA Champions League second round after placing second in their group behind Liverpool.

Real Madrid shares fourth place with Sevilla, with 28 points each. They are eight points behind Barcelona.
