CAIRO – 25 November 2017: Urawa Red Diamonds won the 2017 AFC Champions League title after they defeated Al-Hilal 1-0 on November 25 in the second leg of the Asian final.

The first leg in Saudi Arabia ended with a 1-1 draw. Rafael Silva opened the scoring for Urawa, and Omar Khribin equalized the score for Al-Hilal.

Al-Hilal controlled most of the first half, but they did not have real chances to score, except for Salem Al Dawsari`s shot in the 26th minute, which did not find the net.

In the second half, Al-Hilal pressed Urawa`s backline to score the winning goal, but they failed to penetrate the Japanese defense.

Dawsari was sent off the field in the 78th minute after he got a second yellow card.

In the 88th minute, Rafael Silve again scored Urawa`s winning goal after a powerful shot.

Al-Hilal failed to gain their third title in the competition. They won the title twice before, in 1991 and 2000, while their Japanese opponent won the title once in 2007.
