CAIRO – 7 November 2017: FIFA announced on Tuesday that former German striker, Miroslav Klose will bring the World Cup trophy to the World Cup draw ceremony in Moscow, Russia, in December.

“I feel very honored to somehow still be a part of the World Cup, even after my retirement, and particularly to present to Russia and to the world this trophy that we fought so hard to win in Brazil in 2014,” Klose told FIFA.

Klose won the 2014 World Cup title in Brazil after beating Argentina 1-0 in the final; he scored two goals in the tournament.

Klose added; “For very obvious reasons, the World Cup holds very special memories for me.”

Klose is the top goal scorer in the history of the FIFA World Cup. He scored 14 goals in his four tours with the German national team.

Egypt qualified to 2018 World Cup in Russia after 28 years of absence. The last World Cup Egypt participated in was the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
