CAIRO – 9 October 2017: The Egyptian national team celebrated their qualification for the 2018 World cup, jumping fully clothed into the swimming pool.

The team jumped into Borg al-Arab hotel's pool in Alexandria where the players were staying, celebrating direct qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, following victory over Congolese national team.

Egypt's capital crackled with fireworks and blared with horns as the soccer-crazy country reached the World Cup for the first time in 28 years, after beating Congo 2-1 in the fifth round of the World Cup qualifiers at Borg El-Arab Stadium.

Winger Mohamed Salah scored twice, securing victory with a last-gasp penalty to put Egypt four points clear with one match left in their African group E qualifying campaign.
