CAIRO – 4 October 2017: Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, used the FIFA week to fly to Germany and meet Bayern Munich’s President Uli Hoeness; where they both discussed with Pep the identity of the new Bayern Munich coach.

“It was purely a friendly get-together, but of course we exchanged ideas; I told him who we are going to appoint in the coming days. He was in agreement," Hoeness told the press after meeting Guardiola.

Bayern Munich sacked their Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, after the humiliating 3-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, September 27.

Many names have been suggested to substitute for Ancelotti in Munich, but Borussia Dortmund’s former manager, Thomas Tuchel, and former Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, are the forerunners for the position.

Pep Guardiola coached Bayern Munich for three years from 2014 to 2017 and had many great achievements there before leaving the club to coach Manchester City.
