CAIRO – 04 October 2017 : Former England national team manager Roy Hodgson believes England striker Harry Kane would be an amazing captain for the English national team.

“I think there are a number of potential captains in the team, but one thing is for sure is that he (Kane) will play the captain type role in his position and take responsibility,” Hodgson told Skysports on Tuesday.

Kane captained the English national team against Scotland and France. Jordan Henderson was out of the team, but he returned to captain the team against Slovakia and Malta.

Hodgson added, “I'd like to see Kane scoring goals and doing what he does best as a center forward. It could be that the captaincy could weigh on him and, in some way, impact him after that.”

Kane, 24, started playing for the English national team in 2015 under Hodgson’s command after his amazing performance with his club, Tottenham Hotspurs. Kane represented the English national team in 21 games, scoring 10 goals.
