CAIRO –16 September 2017: The Egyptian U-23 women's volleyball team lost to Slovenia 4-1 in the fifth round of the 2017 FIVB Women's U-23 World Championship in Slovenia.

The women's team lost on Sunday in their first match against the Dominican Republic 4-2, before losing to China with the same result on Monday in their second match, and then the team beat Thailand in the third match, before getting a rest on Wednesday and losing to Argentina on Thursday.

The team includes Rahma Hassan, Sara Amine, Lina Tarek, Du'aa El Ghobashy, Mariam Tharwat, Nour Yassin, Alaa Hamdy, Farida El Asqalani, Aya El Shamy, Aya Khaled, Mariam Mostafa and Duaa Mohamed, under the leadership of Majed Mostafa and Ahmed Fathy.

The mission is headed by Hisham Badrawi, the general supervisor of the women's sector, following the apology of Hwaida Mandi, a member of the Interim Committee for Special Conditions after her return from the Hajj.
