CAIRO – 3 September 2017: Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger confirmed on Sunday that he will try again to sign Monaco’s midfielder, Thomas Lemar after the player refused to join Arsenal this summer.

“We'll come back in for him,” Wenger stated during an interview with Telefoot.

Wenger added, “We bid €100 million [$118.9 million] for Lemar but the player wanted to stay in Monaco.”

Many rumors linked Thomas Lemar with leaving Monaco to join Arsenal, but the player decided to stay with his club.

Wenger spoke about Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Paris Saint Germain; he said, “Mbappe could be the next Pele, there are no limits to how far he can go.”

Wenger revealed that he tried to sign the French wonder kid; he said,” I wanted him too, but €180 million is too much for us."

Arsenal showed interest in many players this summer but in the end the club signed only two players, Alexander Lacazette from Lyon and Sead Kolašinac from Shalke.
