CAIRO - 8 August 2017: Everton is closer than ever to signing Icelandic attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurðsson from Swansea City, Everton manager Ronald Koeman told Skysport.

“We are close on Sigurdsson. We have to wait; the deal is not done," Koeman said after the 2-2 draw with Sevilla in a friendly game.

Koeman talked about his squad’s needs, saying, “Everybody knows we are looking for three more players - a left centre-back, a left full-back, a player who can play out of both positions, a winger and a striker, and that's the picture; what the best is for our team and we will see what we can do."

Everton was very active in the summer after selling striker Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United. They signed Sandro Ramirez, Wayne Rooney, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Cuco Martina and Jordan Pickford.

Everton winger Aaron Lennon missed the game against Sevilla, raising questions about the English veteran’s future with the club.

“The reason that he wasn't in the squad is that he was not fit to play today. I don't know about any interest for Aaron; I don't know," Koeman answered reporter’s question about Lennon.
