CAIRO – 3 August 2017: Claude Makelele, French veteran midfielder, spoke about the future of AS Monaco’s youngster Kylian Mbappe on August 1.

With the current French League champions AS Monaco selling many players from the starting lineup and Mbappe’s transfer talks, Goal decided to interview the legendary defensive midfielder Makelele.

Talking to Goal, Makelele addressed the problem of French clubs and how AS Monaco made Mbappe’s name.

Makelele told Goal, “I think the problem in France is you make young players big and then you send them away. The problem as well is that young players have ambition, they all want to play for the big teams,” as reported from Squawka.

Makelele concluded to Goal, “For me Mbappe was better last season, he has talent this player. He wants to make a difference in European football. When you are a good player you remain a good player. The best player in the world travels to different teams,” citing from Squawka.

Mbappe has been in FC Barcelona’s priority list as a replacement for the Brazilian winger Neymar due to Neymar being on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain.

It is good to mention that Mbappe scored 26 goals and made 11 assists in the last season with AS Monaco.
