CAIRO –28 July 2017: The final matches of the second round of group stages in the 2017 Arab Championships end with Esperance Sportive victorious over Al-Merrikh, Al-Hilal and Naft Al-Wasat draw.

The Tunisian Esperance secured its seat at the semifinals of the Arab Championship after gaining the three winning points of the second match in the group stage; defeating the Sudanese Al-Merrikh with two goals scored by Anis el-Badry in minutes 20 and 69 of the game.

Naft Al-Wasat of Iraq managed to earn its first point of the Arab Championship after a 2-2 tie with the Saudi Al-Hilal. The Iraqi side was in the lead at the end of the first half with last minute suspicion of offside goal.

The second half showed Al-Hilal strong with two goals by Abdul Karim Al-Qahtany in the 52nd minute and Anas Zyany in the 57th minute before the Iraqi team returned to the game with Eyad Samir’s tying goal in the 80th minute of the game.
