CAIRO – 22 July 2017: AC Milan’s new defender Leonardo Bonucci revealed the reason behind his departure from Italian champions Juventus. On July 22, Bonucci spoke to the Italian website La Gazzetta Dello Sport, talking about how he did not feel important to the Juventus Club.

Bonucci told La Gazzetta, “To give 100 percent, I need to feel important; something that at Juventus was recently happening only in fits and starts.” He added, “Having discussions over the years is normal, as I am someone who is very direct and always speaks the truth.”

AC Milan’s new defender continued his remarks to La Gazzetta, saying, “People thought that was the most striking thing (his disagreements with Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri), but in truth it was just the final straw. There were other situations before that,” according to Squawka.

Bonucci concluded to La Gazzetta, “They (the Juventus fans) ought to know that, just like the insults I received while wearing the Bianconeri shirt fired me up, it’ll be the same if they jeer me.”

Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci helped Juventus secure the Italian League title and the Italian Cup last season.
