CAIRO – 19 July2017: Roma veteran player Francesco Totti agreed on becoming Roma’s club director, AS Roma announced on July 17.

Speaking to Roma’s website, Totti said, “The first part [of my life] -- being a footballer -- is over, and now another, equally important one as a director begins, and I hope that I will be able to do what I did on the field,” according to ESPN.

Totti added to the club’s website, saying, "Football is my passion; it's everything. It's friendship, scoring goals, knowing new people. It's something which touched every important part of my body,” citing from ESPN.

Roma’s former club captain played his first match for AS Roma when he was just 16 years old in 1993. His last match with AS Roma was in May 2017 against Genoa in Roma’s stadium, Stadio Olimpico.
