CAIRO, 31 January 2023: Al-Ahly coach Marcel Koller decided to exclude Bruno Savio, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Al-Dawy “Christo”, Shadi Hussein and Mustafa Makhlouf from the final list that will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup competitions.
Al Ahly will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup for the 8th time in their history. Al Ahly aim to make history and achieve a better place after getting the Bronze medal three times before.
The Reds are set to face New Zealand's Auckalnd City in their first match on Wednesday, 1 February 2023 at 09:00 PM CLT.
Koller excluded five players from the final list which came as follows:
GKs: Mohamed El Shenawy, Ali Lotfy, Hamza Alaa
Defenders: Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Hany, Khaled Abdelfatah, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Abdelmoneim, Mahmoud Metwally, Ramy Rabia,
Midfielders: Hamdy Fathy, Aliou Dieng, Amr El Soleya, Marwan Attia, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Hussien El Shahat, Ahmed Abdelkader, Taher Mohamed Taher, Percy Tau, Mohamed Fakhry
Attackers: Mohamed Sherif, Mahmoud Kahraba
