No Egyptian observers participated in Russian referendums as rumors surface that Ukraine pulled out of squash championship in Egypt

CAIRO - 10 October 2022: No Egyptian observers were sent to follow up on referendums held in Ukrainian regions that as a result have been annexed to Russia, according to a Monday statement by the Foreign Ministry.

Some websites specialized in squash have claimed that Ukraine pulled out of the Women's World Team Squash Championship to be held in Egypt and n December because of the alleged recognition of the referendums. 

However, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, categorically denied the rumor.
