Al Ahly faces Monastir in their CAF Champions league start

Cairo, 9 October 2022: Al-Ahly team will start CAF Champions League campaign on Sunday, when they visit Al-Ittihad of Monastir at the Mustafa Bin Jannat complex stadium in the city of Monastir at 3:00 pm Tunis time - 4:00 Cairo time.
 
The match is in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League, amid An audience of nearly 20,000 spectators.
 
Sunday's match is the first appearance of the Swiss coach, Marcel Koller, Al-Ahly coach, after the departure of the Portuguese Ricardo Suarez, and Koller seeks to achieve a positive result that facilitates the task of the Reds before the return match in Cairo on October 15 at Al-Ahly and Al-Salam Stadium.
 
Koller is looking for a successful start to leave a good impression with Al-Ahly fans, who wished for a distinguished season that compensates for the losses of last season, as the Red Genie lost the league and the Egypt Cup alongside the African Champions League.
 
Al-Ahly is the most crowned in the African Champions League with 10 titles, and also lost the eleventh title in the last edition in favor of Moroccan Wydad in the final match.
 
During the last period, Al-Ahly played three friendly matches against Petrojet, Aswan and Talaa Al-Jaish, which ended with Al-Ahly winning the first with five goals against a goal and in the second with two goals against a goal, then a negative tie in the third match against Al-Tala’i.
 
Al-Ahly is absent from the Monastir Union match, Rami Rabia, due to the suspension, Mahmoud Kahraba and Salah Mohsen for not being registered in Africa, and Karim Fouad, Mohamed Maghribi, Mohamed Ashraf and Mohamed Mahmoud for technical reasons.
 
While the return from the injury, Akram Tawfiq, and newcomers Shadi Hussein and Bruno Savio are present.
