Tunisia continued their preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️ with a warm-up game against Brazil at the Parc des Princes, Paris, on Tuesday 27 September. The staging of the friendly international also provided FIFA President Gianni Infantino with the opportunity to meet his Tunisian Football Association (FTF) counterpart Wadie Jary, at FIFA’s bureau in the French capital.

During the course of their meeting, both Presidents discussed a wide range of topics relating to Tunisian, African and world football in general. “We talked in particular about the state of the Tunisian game, our facilities and the FTF’s headquarters, academy, medical centre, residential facilities and even the hotels used by the national team and the domestic leagues,” said Jary, who was first elected FTF president in 2012 and was subsequently re-elected in 2016 and 2020.

“We also discussed the FTF’s projects for developing and promoting the game in financial and administrative terms, as well as our competitions in general.”

The FTF President took the opportunity to highlight the importance of FIFA Forward investment in Tunisian football, and how this fosters a close and productive working relationship with FIFA

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to FIFA management for the time they have given us,” the FTF President said. “Whether it’s at administrative level or in working on joint projects such as the FIFA Forward Programme, someone is always there to listen to us.

“We have excellent relations with FIFA and we have no concerns when it comes to solving any problems that arise and moving forward with our work” he added. “Whether it’s a question of competitions, legal and administrative matters, infrastructure, or anything that relates to football and the national teams, we have someone we can approach and who can give us recommendations and offer their overall experience of football management.”
