The Egyptian players celebrate scoring a goal against Algeria

CAIRO - 4 August 2022: The Egyptian youth national team booked their place in the U-20 Arab Cup final with a 3-1 victory over Algeria in the semi-finals on Wednesday. 

 

The Pharaohs will face the hosts, Saudi Arabia, in the final on Saturday at Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha. 

 

The Egyptian players maintained their strong run in the competition with four victories out of four matches in their route to the final. 

 

Salah Basha opened the score early in the game after following a header thatp Algerian defense failed to clear and Abdelrahman Rashdan doubled the score with a fantastic header before the end of the first half. 

 

In the second half, the Algerians revived their hopes in the match with a beautiful goal from Lahlou Akhrib. 

 

Mohamed Ibrahim killed off the match when he scored the third goal for the Egyptians 15 minutes before the final whistle. 

 

The Egyptians are expecting a strong clash against Saudi Arabia, who reached the final after defeating Palestine 5-0. 

 

Egypt will appear in the final of the competition for the first time in history while the hosts are looking forward to defending their title.
