CAIRO - 30 June 2022: Egypt men's handball team has a tough test on Thursday afternoon at the Mediterranean Games in Algeria as Egypt and Tunisia face off in a fierce Arab derby.

The matches between the top two handball teams in Africa always bring joy and excitement for the fans as both teams have some of the finest talents in the continent.

The Pharaohs had a strong start in the competition with two wins over Italy and Serbia while the Tunisian team won their opening match in the competition against Slovenia.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside Italy, Serbia, Slovenia and arch-rivals Tunisia.

The Pharaohs will finish their group stage matches on Friday against Slovenia and they hope to win the remaining two games to reach the semi-finals as group leaders.

The Pharaohs consider the Mediterranean Games as a perfect preparation for the upcoming African championship which will be held in Cairo in July.

Egypt's biggest achievement in the Mediterranean Games came in 2013 when the Pharaohs won the gold medal in Turkey after defeating Croatia in the final.
