CAIRO - 11 June 2022: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that Cairo International Stadium will host the domestic league derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek on 19 June.

The EFA also announced that José Luis Munuera from Spain will officiate the game.

Munuera is one of the top referees in Spain and he officiated Real Madrid's victory over Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup semis last January in Saudi Arabia.

Zamalek, the defending champions, lead the Egyptian League table with 44 points from 20 games while Al Ahly come third in the table with 37 points from 16 matches.

The White Knights hope to achieve their first win over Al Ahly since their 3-1 win in August 2020.

Both teams will play in the domestic cup without their international players this week as Al Ahly take on El Masry of El Salloum on Sunday while Zamalek face Dakhlya on Monday.
