De Bruyne named Premier League player of the season

CAIRO-21 May 2022: Manchester City Belgian midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, was crowned the best player in the Premier League this season. 

The Belgian won the prestigious award for the second time in his career after a fantastic performance with the Cityzens, who are having the upper hand in the Premier League title race with one round remaining. 

"To win this award for a second time is an achievement that I am really proud of. There is so much quality in the Premier League and it is a pleasure to be nominated with so many other great players who have had incredible seasons for their clubs." De Bruyne told Manchester City official website. 

De Bruyne has a chance to celebrate the Premier League title on Sunday if they managed to defeat Aston Villa at home. 

De Bruyne's exceptional form and his 15 goals gave him the highest votes and he is now the fourth player in the competition's history to win the award on two occasions. 

Manchester City players have won the award in the last three seasons with De Bruyne winning the award in 2019-2020 season while his teammate Ruben Dias received the award last season.
