CAIRO-25 March 2022: El Hadji Diouf, Senegal's legend, believes that Friday's meeting between Egypt and Senegal in the final round of the African World Cup qualifiers will be completely different from the AFCON final.

In the AFCON final in Cameroon, Senegal clinched their first-ever AFCON title after defeating the Pharaohs on penalties.

"This match between Egypt and Senegal is completely different from the one in AFCON. It’s a game of different magnitude. This is a match that puts more pressure on both teams,” Diouf said.

Diouf was a key player in Senegal's squad that Knocked Egypt out in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, taking his nation to their first participation in the prestigious competition.

The former striker believes that his nation has the advantage in the tie as the Lions of Teranga have many outstanding players among their squad.

"If we look at the players, we have the best goalkeeper in the world [Mendy], the best defender [Koulibaly], and Sadio Mane." Diouf added.

The Pharaohs hope to have a comfortable advantage at home ahead of second leg in Senegal next Tuesday.
