CAIRO-6 January 2022: The Egyptian national team delegation will depart for Cameroon on Saturday, 8 January, according to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) officials.

The newly elected EFA president, Gamal Allam, will be the head of the delegation to Cameroon.

The delegation will arrive in Garoua, the city that hosts Egypt's first two matches in the group stage, five days before the Pharaohs' opening game in the competition against Nigeria.

The national team continued their preparations for the upcoming AFCON at Cairo International Stadium, where Carlos Queiroz and his assistant staff are finally having the chance in the last two sessions to train the whole squad after the arrival of the team's foreign-based players.

The Egyptian minister of youth and sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, held a meeting with the team on Wednesday to motivate them ahead of their participation in the competition.

Egypt plays in Group D alongside Nigeria, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.

The Pharaohs are the record title-holders, having won the title on seven occasions and they hope to put their hand on the trophy after a 12-year hiatus.
