CAIRO, 8 December 2021: Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz gave the Egyptian national team a rest on Wednesday.

Egypt is preparing to face Jordan on Saturday in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup, after it topped its fourth group over Algeria, thanks to fair play rules.

The Egyptian national team will start its preparations to face Jordan on Thursday.

Egypt and Algeria tied 1-1 in the third round of the group stage, after Mohamed Amine Togay advanced for the Greens, and Amr Al-Soulia tied for the Pharaohs from the penalty spot.

The tie also continued at the level of warnings until the 92nd minute, when each team received 3 warnings. Akram Tawfik, Hamdi Fathi and Amr Al-Sulayya from Egypt, Youssef Belaili, Mohamed El-Amin Togay and Zakaria Darawi from Algeria.

However, Hilal, a Sudanese Arab, was warned in the 92nd minute after an intervention against Ahmed Fattouh, and a direct expulsion of Yassin Titrawi gave Egypt the lead.

The Egyptians will face Jordan next Saturday, while Algeria will face Morocco on the same day.
