CAIRO-13 November 2021: Carlos Queiroz, Egypt national team Portuguese head coach, revealed his happiness as his team reached the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The coach recalled his first words as the team head coach when he told press in his presentation conference that his team has a mountain to climb and he believes that he took the team to half of the mountain.

"We have reached half of the mountain and we still have a lot of work ahead of us." Queiroz stated after the game.

The Pharaohs secured their spot in the next round after clinching a hard-fought draw against Angola thanks to a stunning battle back from two goals behind.

The Portuguese coach added "I would like to congratulate my players for their reaction in the game. They played with a champions' attitude and had a winning mentality after a difficult first half."

Egypt has been unbeaten under Queiroz with two wins over Libya and a draw away from home against Angola.

Egypt topped the group with 11 points, four points clear over second placed Gabon, with one game to spare.
