CAIRO-6 November 2021: Al Ahly's attacking duo, Mohamed Magdy Afsha and Mohamed Sherif, were named in Egypt national team's squad that will face Angola and Gabon in the last two games of the first round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
 
Carlos Queiroz, national team head coach, included Afsha and Sherif in his list after ruling them out of the two matches against Libya last October. 
 
Egypt's squad for the World Cup qualifiers:
Goalkeepers: 
Mohamed El Shenawy, Mohamed Abo Gabal, Mohamed Sobhy, Mahmoud Gad
 
Defenders:
Akram Tawfik, Ayman Ashraf, Ahmed Fathy, Mahmoud Alaa, Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh, Ahmed Fattouh, Ahmed Yassin, Ahmed Hegazi, Mohamed Hamdy,
 
Midfielders:
Imam Ashour, Mostafa Fathy, Abdullah El Said, Amr El Soulia, Hamdy Fathy, Mohamed Elneny, Mohamed Magdy Afsha,
 
Strikers: 
Mohamed Sherif, Omar Marmoush, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, Mostafa Mohamed, Marwan Hamdy, Mohamed Salah. 
 
The Pharaohs will face Angola in Luanda on 12 February and four days later, they will play their last game in the group stage against Gabon at home. 
 
Egypt leads the group by 10 points and they need only one victory from the two remaining matches to secure their progress to the final stage of the qualifications.
