CAIRO-6 November 2021:  Zamalek fans and everyone associated with the club did not have a pleasant night on Friday as the White Knights lost 5-3 to their arch-rivals, Al Ahly.

Ahmed Hossam Mido, former Zamalek star, was not happy with the attitude of Zamalek’s players and went on twitter to criticize them after the game.

“Congratulations for Al Ahly fans. They should be happy with their players who were focused and had a proper game plan. They followed their coach’s tactics unlike Zamalek players who must look at the mirror and question their credibility to play for Zamalek.” Mido tweeted.

The defending champions of the Egyptian League were 5-1 down after 60 minutes and the score could have been even worse but two late goals from Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Achraf Bencharki minimized the crisis.

Mido added “Carteron (the coach) had his own mistakes but criticizing the coach is the easiest thing to do. The players must know that nothing will make us forget the embarrassment of the game except the league title.”

Zamalek suffered their worst loss in the derby since their famous 6-1 defeat in 2002.
