CAIRO-30 September 2021: Al Ittihad of Alexandria opened their participation in the Arab Club Basketball Championship with a dominant victory over Yemen’s Menaa at Borg El Arab hall.

Al Ittihad won their first game in the competition 115-46 in a one-way match against Minaa who failed to deal with the pace and power of the Alexandrian players. The scores of the four quarters are as follows: 33-1, 28-7, 35-25 and 19-13.

Al Ittihad hosts the 33th edition of the competition and they hope to use the advantage of playing at home to defend their title.

Al Ittihad plays in group A of the competition alongside Fath Union Sport of Morocco, USM Blida of Algeria and Menaa of Yemen.

Also, Al Ahly will start their journey in the tournament on Thursday when they face Yemen’s Hadhramaut at Al Ittihad of Alexandria hall.

Al Ahly play in group C alongside Widad Boufarik of Algeria, Hadhramaut of Yemen, and Al Fateh of Saudi Arabia.
